My name is Roberto Venegas and I am from Costa Rica. I have more than 10 years of experience in the sports industry. I have had the opportunity to be a swimmer in the USA for 6 years, where I managed to be a state champion with Santa Rosa Junior College. I later continued my swmming carreer at Concordia University Irvine, California, where I would graduate with my bachelors degree in exercises science and sports.
After my time in the USA I moved to Madrid, Spain, where I did my first masters in sports training and nutrition at the Real Madrid Graduate School. During my time in Madrid I had the opportunity to get to know Real Madrid and other clubs like Getafe, Málaga CF and Liverpool FC.
After successfully concluding my masters and as a result of that opportunity, I was hired by Real Betis Balompié as a strength and injury recovery coach.
I had the valuable opportunity to work with Betis for 2 years and I can say that it has been one of the best experiences as a professional that I have had to date. During these 2 years I also finished a second Master in Injury recovery and prevention in MEDAC.
Currently, I work with Liga Deportiva Alajuelense, one of the most popular top-flight teams in Costa Rica. My position is the same as Real Betis, with the difference that I am the head strength and rehab coach.
Much of my career has injury recovery as its main focus, the reason that a few a years ago I suffered several injures that put me in a very complicated situation. Preventing me from being able to live an active life, and in a constant state of doubt and fear. As a result of this situation I had to seek help from other professionals who today I think have been a great influence in my professional career.
My recovery has been one of the top and most influential experiences, since it has been one of the greatest teachings in my personal and professional life. I learned to sympathize with those who suffer from an injury that prevents them from living and doing the activities they love.
When I work with a client, I think it is important to know their history and the reason for that physical goal, since it is important to know where the person comes from and thus make the work more effective. I also, focus a lot on this part since the mental aspect in recovering is of great importance. Having an injury produces stress, doubts, fear and is a great factor that can inhibit the recovery process.
As a coach I share with you this website and my services to help and guide you to any physical goal you wish to achieve. I want to be a coach with whom you can trust and communicate without any problem, since communication is one big key to success.
It has been a good week. Very little pain and no longer gives me the pull. I am feeling much better. We continue!
